EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
MINUTES

April 4, 2007


President Jim Ege called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM in the Village hall council chambers.

ROLL CALL

Present: Jim Ege, Ed Bigelow, Ken Lindstrom, Bill O'Donnell, Myrna Carlin, Bob Childers, Roger Bailey

Guest:   None

MINUTES:

Moved by Ed Bigelow, Second by Ken Lindstrom to approve the March 6, 2007 minutes as amended.Motion passed.

TREASURER'S REPORT:

Ken Lindstrom presented balance sheet as of March 31, 2007 with the accompanying "Income Statement YTD Comparison"As of March 31, 2007 total assets amounted to $63,154.85 and Total Liabilities & Equity amounted to 65,074.09. Income for March 2007 was $288.42 and expenses were $534.00. Total members on the roll at that date were 227. Moved by Roger, seconded by Ed to receive the report.

PROJECT/TASK STATUS:

Web Site:

The Michigan Historical Society has a preliminary page up on their web site. Work is continuing.

Newsletter Report:

Jim Ege reported that the newsletter workgroup is preparing the newsletter. It will be out prior to the next meeting.

Log Update/ Lumber Jack presentation:

Jim reported that the chamber will sponsor a Lumber Jack exhibition on June 23 and that we might work the log into the activities. Ed asked if we will replace the log if it is not worth salvaging. Jim related that he has looked into the possibility of pulling up another log from the bottom of the lake but there are no definitive answers. Ken suggested that we stay with the existing log even though it isn't in very good shape.

August Fall Dinner Speaker:

Myrna suggested John McGarry, Executive Director of the Muskegon County Museum for our speaker. She will follow up on this and report back.

May Dinner Update:

Myrna reported that the tickets, flyers, setup, caterer, ice, table service, and key to the hall are under control.. Work on printing a program and or creating an easel remains to be done.
