MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

April 1, 2009

  1. Call to Order 1:00pm

  2. Board Member Roll Call: Present, all plus, Karen Way: Membership

  3. Approval of the Agenda roger moved, myrna seconded passed

  4. Public Comments on Agenda Items; none

  5. Board Meeting Minutes Jim moved, roger support, Add dates 6e, 6c strike 6g
    Approved- January 7, 2009. as amended
    Special meeting: Myrna moves to approve Bob second, approved

  6. Treasurer’s Report - March 31, 2009
    990-N File report to IRS under $25,000 Ken has filed for 2008. Year ends Dec 31.
    motion to approve roger. myrna second received motion carried
    8 members dropped after no payment since 2005. motion to approve myrna, bill
    motion carried

  7. Committee Reports

    1. Administration - Ed Bigelow
      1. Property Management - Acquisition/Lease Bill O'Donnell
        1. Make a decision to purchase, lease or build
          1. Harbor View has pluses and only one feasible.
            1. Discussion: Ken and Bill regarding pluses and minuses of leasing vs ownership. Bill will check out with Harbor View.
      2. Information Booth - Renovation Project Status motion to increase to $10,000
        bob seconded. passed
    2. Member Services - Myrna Carlin
      1. May 27, 2008 Spring Dinner - Dr. Bill Anderson will speak to "Women of the Civil War".
      2. Baked chicken and swiss steak.
        Ticket Price: $13 motion by Ken, Bob and Roger moved and seconded,
        motion carried. Duran's, Library or Board members buy tickets.
    3. Museum - Bob Childers committee will report on future additions...
    4. Newspaper Microfilm Completion Plan

    1. Principles and Operating Procedures - Process Review

      Antique Fair Dropped
  9. New Business
    1. SOM - Department of History, Arts and Libraries - Survey Historic Structures
      Todd Walsh State historic preservation office. online survey available if the municipality owns one. Red Barn is not ours...do not do it.
    2. Mike Castor: Has in Gerrard Building the original Dry Goods Sign. 4x8 foot, needs painting. We would take it as an artifact. Bob or Ken will talk with him.
    3. Bob has articles he would like to publish about Pentwater History.
    4. Ken letter from Lowell, Michigan donated Photo of the Pentwater Lodge.
